CX Ex songs are, lyrically and musically, the divine mashing up of a conceptual art piece with a catchy jam. Great lyrics that probe the shaky foundation of our societies. Favorite track: New Blank Document.

kirk_ludwig From now on in 2018, with Swans, one of the two ooooold noise-rock/post-punk band wich manage to :
- still alive
- keep playing live
- compared to their start, appears to be at least as good on stage NOW
- keep doing what they always did : recording only, yup, is said ONLY great albums. With a career spanning decades, it is utterly amazing, and unique.
AND, as time goes by, the more those facts are impressive and make that band (and Swans) the greatest rock band of history ? Favorite track: Soon All Cities.

M.G. Turnis Probably one of the best releases of the year by these veteran Dutch punkers. A classic!
Erik Daas

Erik Daas After Catch My Shoe it seems The Ex is much more able to use their new singer Arnold as guidance to their most melodic album sofar. The drums of Katherine as base with three guitars giving The Ex new energy. The voice of Arnold mixed above the music instead of being an additional instrument. One of their best cd’s. Favorite track: The Sitting Chins.

The Ex Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Ex started playing in 1979. Using guitars, bass, drums and voice as their starting point The Ex have continued to musically explore undiscovered areas right up to the present day: collaborations with jazz musicians and an Iraqi-Kurdish band, Kamagurka, Tom Cora, Sonic Youth, Han Bennink, Jan Mulder, Shellac and Wolter Wierbos. In 2002 The Ex set up a lively musical exchange with Ethiopia. ... more
